Þrettándinn, meaning 'the thirteenth' in Icelandic, signifies the conclusion of Iceland's Christmas season, observed on January 6th. Falling thirteen days after December 24th, it marks the departure of the last yule lad back home in the mountains.

Two Þrettándinn celebration in Rangárþing eystra are scheduled for January 6th.

In Fljótshlíð, near the Goðaland community centre, a bonfire will illuminate the night sky, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display organized by the local rescue team. The bonfire, dedicated to elves and fairies, draws guests in diverse costumes for a lively atmosphere. Following the bonfire, head to Goðaland at 20:00 for coffee and the opportunity to mingle with fellow attendees.

Close to Seljalandsfoss, another bonfire, complemented by a captivating fireworks show by the local rescue team, will grace the surroundings, with the majestic waterfall as a backdrop. Post-bonfire, venture to the Heimaland community centre for a delightful coffee experience.
