If you're looking to dispose of your Christmas tree, please consider taking it to the designated garden waste area located north of Hallgerðartún, as illustrated in the accompanying picture. The tree trunks and sizable branches collected at this site will be repurposed by curling and utilized in planting beds within Hvolsvöllur's green spaces, as well as in footpaths throughout the municipality's open areas.
To ensure the efficiency of the material wood processing by the curler, it's crucial that only tree trunks and larger branches are deposited in this specific area. Please refrain from including leaves from gardens, trees with roots, hedge clippings, grass, soil, sand, or any other materials that may compromise the curler's functionality. For these items, there is a separate pit adjacent to this one designated for trunks and large branches
Additionally, it's of utmost importance that only garden waste is placed in these pits, excluding materials such as plastic, cardboard, and iron.
Let's collectively contribute to maintaining the area's exemplary condition. The efforts of 99% of the residents have been commendable, and the municipality expresses gratitude for your cooperation.
